High Influenza Activity in Louisiana

Dear Parents and Guardians,

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Louisiana is experiencing the highest level of influenza activity in the country.

During the next week while students are on Thanksgiving Break, we have an opportunity to help stop the spread of illness. Our custodial staff will be making a concerted effort to deep clean all of our schools, including disinfecting hard surfaces such as desks and doorknobs.

This may also be a good time for you to wash jackets, hats, backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes, etc. For items that cannot be washed, you may want to wipe them down with disinfectant wipes.

Also, please use this chart as a reference to determine when a student should be kept home from school and when they can return:

Together, we can help keep all our children, teachers and staff healthy!
