ARCHIVES 04.28.10 LEAP Testing for Non-Public and Home Schooling Students For Immediate Release - April 26, 2010 LEAP Testing (Summer 2010) Attention: Non-Public and Home Schooling Students This notice is to advise parents of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education’s policy regarding the transfer of non-public and home schooling students to the public school system. >> A student who is transferring from an in-state nonpublic school or a home schooling program, as well as, a Louisiana resident who is transferring from an out-of-state school to enroll in the Louisiana public school system at grades 5 or 9 shall be required to take and pass the 4th or 8th grade LEAP 21 English Language Arts and Mathematics tests. The Ascension Parish School System will administer the LEAP test to students planning to enroll in the Ascension Parish Public schools on June 28, 29 and 30, 2010. (Students are required to participate in testing during the entire three day cycle.)
