Ascension Parish School System

John F. Kennedy once said, “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”

So is the case for the Ascension Parish School System.  For our students to gain the high academic and technical skills they need to compete in a knowledge-based global economy, we must ever identify and implement new strategies for improvement. 

Ascension is a premier school district in the state, but we must continuously strive to become a premier school district in the nation.  And to do so, we must build upon the collective wisdom of our organization – every teacher, administrator, staff member, parent and student is an important contributor to our success.   We must set high expectations and standards of excellence for one another and then provide the mutual support needed to meet those goals.

I have worked in the Ascension Parish school system for 33 years, and during that time, I have greatly benefitted from the many professionals around me who daily demonstrated their expertise, innovation and commitment to excellence. I soon learned that each change in procedure, personnel or policy provided a new opportunity for improvement. 

I am deeply honored to serve as your new superintendent, and I look forward to working with each of you to collectively find innovative ways to enhance our success.  Please take time to share with me your thoughts and ideas about improving our system, or how I and this administration can help you enhance your performance.
