Gonzales, La. —The Ascension Parish School Board recently recognized Duckroost Seafood and Hughes Insurance for sponsoring the fall high school football jamboree games this year. As part of the sponsorship, each of the four high schools received a check for $1,000.
"Ascension Public Schools is very fortunate to have strong community partners who support our education programs and athletic teams. We are grateful to Hughes Insurance and Duckroost Seafood for stepping up to continue this annual sponsorship started several years ago by the LeBlanc family. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them for years to come," said Superintendent David Alexander.
In 1980, Ronnie Hughes founded what is now known as Hughes Insurance Services, LLC. With the addition of both his sons, Bret in 1993, and Brad in 2004, Hughes Insurance Services has grown into a business of caring and conscientious professionals. Located in Gonzales, the company offers personal, business and financial coverage.
Duckroost Seafood is a family operated business located at the corner of Hwy 431 and Black Bayou Road. Owners Brandon Faulkner and David Rouqes offer a full-service seafood market, deli and convenience store.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to give back to our community, 'The AP', and show our appreciation for the support we’ve received since opening our doors in 2015. We built our business on the basic idea that hard work, determination and commitment to quality will always make you a winner. By supporting this event, we know we are contributing to coaches and mentors who are teaching our young athletes these same values," said Rouqes.
