Dear Parents and Guardians,

The following is a video message about flood recovery for Ascension Public Schools:

You can also view the video at https://youtu.be/tShN6Ff1YIs.

Included in this update is information about plans for temporary buildings to relieve the host campus situation and platoon scheduling that currently exist for the five displaced schools. The target date for moving into temporary buildings is Feb. 3, 2017.

Click on the following school names to download site plans that show planned locations for temporary buildings on each campus:
Please note, there is not enough space on St. Amant Primary's campus to house the entire school in temporary buildings. Therefore, St. Amant Primary grades PreK through fifth will be on the old RPCC campus on Hwy. 22 in Sorrento until its campus is restored.

In regards to making up academic minutes, the Staff Development Day (Student Holiday) on Jan. 13, 2017, has been cancelled, and there will be NO District Early Releases for the rest of the 2016-17 Academic Year. Early releases at the school level may be approved on a case-by-case basis. At this time, we are still protecting all scheduled holidays for the year.

Please continue to visit our website, www.apsb.org, for the latest information about flood recovery, and thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

David Alexander
Superintendent
Ascension Public Schools
