Free School Meal Program Extended for October at Flood Impacted and Host Schools

Donaldsonville, LA – The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service has extended its free child nutrition program for flood impacted schools in Ascension Parish through the month of October. This includes the six schools that sustained flood damage and the six schools that are hosting displaced schools.

Specifically, all students will be offered one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day from Oct. 5, 2016 until Oct. 31, 2016 if they attend one of the following schools:

  1. Central Middle School
  2. Duplessis Primary School
  3. Dutchtown High School
  4. Galvez Primary School
  5. Galvez Middle School
  6. G.W. Carver Primary School
  7. Lake Elementary School
  8. Lakeside Primary School
  9. Prairieville Middle School
  10. St. Amant Middle School
  11. St. Amant Primary School
  12. St. Amant High School

Please note, student second meals are not free.  They will be sold at cost of $3.75. All non-students must still pay for meals at the following rates:

APS Employee              $2.00                      $3.75

Visitor                            $2.25                      $4.00

 

Flood impacted students attending other schools in Ascension Parish are encouraged to apply for free and reduced meal benefits online at www.apsb.org/page/lunch-menu.
