Honey Lundin Named Assistant Principal of Sorrento Primary School

Donaldsonville, La. – Ascension Public Schools announces the hiring of Honey Lundin as the new Assistant Principal of Sorrento Primary School. 

"Honey has over 20 years of experience in education and has been in Ascension since 2009. We look forward to all of the great things she is going to do at Sorrento Primary," said Ascension Public Schools Superintendent David Alexander.

A native of Baton Rouge, Lundin began teaching second grade in the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic School system over 20 years ago. In 2009, she began a five-year assignment at Spanish Lake Primary which included serving as a third grade substitute teacher, a fourth grade teacher and an instructional coach. She served one year as a TAP mentor teacher at Pecan Grove Primary and has served the last two years as a TAP master teacher at Pecan Grove.

"Thank you to all of the district leaders who have been wonderful mentors for me. I look forward to serving our students and teachers and community in a new way," said Lundin. "I am also extremely excited to join Principal Robin Anderson and the Sorrento Primary team as we move forward in our pursuit of excellence. Go Mighty Mudbugs!"

Lundin earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University (LSU) and a master's degree in educational leadership with a concentration in educational technology from Nicholls State University.

She and her husband of 24 years, Marc, have two sons who attend LSU: Carter and Brock.
