Education Day for Leadership Ascension: Superintendent David Alexander (left) addresses the Leadership Ascension Class of 2017 as part of their education day. Leadership Ascension is an innovative program sponsored by The Ascension Chamber of Commerce to assist in preparing emerging community leaders for leadership positions in local government, business and community affairs. As part of their education day, the attendees visited classrooms at Central Primary, Central Middle, APPLe Digital Academy, Early College Option and St. Amant High School. They finished the morning session with lunch from the cafeteria before traveling to River Parishes Community College.

COLLEGE GROUP VOLUNTEERS OVER SPRING BREAK
Nine college students and a staff minister from the University of New Hampshire spent their spring break this week volunteering at St. Amant High School. The young women with Athletes Intervarsity Christian Fellowship sorted and distributed classroom items that were saved from the flooded high school campus, emptying out the entire old commons. LOUISIANA LIONS SUMMER CAMP

The Louisiana Lions Camp is a non-profit residential summer camp, owned and operated by the Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children, Inc.  The League is funded by the Lions Clubs of Louisiana, Multiple District 8 (MD-8)

Louisiana Lions Camp is free for boys and girls with qualifying Special Needs, Diabetes, and Pulmonary Disorders. Click here for more information.
