Donaldsonville, La. – Ascension Public Schools announces the appointment of Jeremy Muse as the new principal of Lake Elementary School, the only K-8 school in the district.
"Jeremy has been in education for 18 years. We are very honored and privileged to have him in this leadership role, and I know he is going to be a great Lake Lion," said Superintendent David Alexander.
Born and raised in Walker, Louisiana, Muse has taught at both the primary and middle school level over the course of his 18-year career. In fact, he taught each grade level from third through eighth. Twelve years ago, Muse began teaching math at Central Middle School in Gonzales before serving as assistant principal for the past nine years.
"Thank you for this great opportunity. I have been truly honored and completely supported by everyone during this transition -- from my great friends at Central Middle to my new family at Lake," said Muse. "I am excited to apply the knowledge I have gained from all the administrators that I have had the opportunity to work with to continue to improve student achievement."
Muse earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a master's degree in educational leadership from Louisiana State University and will receive a doctoral degree in educational leadership from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this May.
He and his wife, Stacie, have been married for 10 years. Their twin daughters, Isabella and Madelyn, are eight years old.
