Open House and Ribbon Cutting for St. Amant High Freshman Academy

St. Amant, La. – Ascension Public Schools will hold an open house and ribbon cutting for the new St. Amant High (STA) Freshman Academy this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The new 66,000 square-foot facility, which features 28 classrooms, a new state-of-the-art cafeteria and theater will be part of the solution for getting St. Amant High back on its campus by Feb. 3, 2017.

WHAT: Open House and Ribbon Cutting for the St. Amant High Freshman Academy
WHEN: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016
WHERE: 12035 LA Hwy. 431, St. Amant, LA 70774

DETAILS: Hot chocolate and a Christmas tree will greet attendees in the entrance lobby. The St. Amant community is asked to bring an ornament for the tree that represents their family. The ceremonial ribbon cutting will take place on stage in the new cafetorium, followed by a performance by the STA Choir.

  • Dutchtown High teacher Brenden Simoneaux won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching
  • Ascension Public Schools earned the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fourth consecutive year. Ascension is one of only two school districts in Louisiana to achieve this honor.
