Beth Templet Appointed Principal of St. Amant High School

St. Amant, La. – Ascension Public Schools announces the appointment of Beth Templet as Principal of St. Amant High School. 

"Beth is a product of public schools in Baton Rouge and has served our school system and St. Amant High in a variety of roles. She is truly an outstanding educator," said Superintendent David Alexander.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Templet has worked in Ascension Parish for the past 20 years. She student taught at St. Amant High before moving to North Louisiana while her husband completed college. Upon returning to Ascension, Templet served as a social studies teacher at St. Amant High for 12 years. In 2010 after a one-year appointment as an instructional coach, Templet became an assistant principal at St. Amant High and has served as associate principal in charge of the freshman academy for the past five years.

"Thank you for putting your trust in me to lead St. Amant High. It is truly an honor to become the principal of the school I walked into 24 years ago as a student teacher," said Templet. "I have had the privilege of seeing our kids and teachers do wonderful things these last several years, and we are going to continue to strive for success through actions, the STA way."

Templet earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Louisiana State University and a master's degree in educational leadership from Southern University.

She and her husband, Scott, have one son who attends Lake Elementary School.
