Dear Ascension Public Schools Family,

Before we break for the holiday weekend, I would like to give you a quick update on the status of our flood recovery.

GALVEZ PRIMARY: A Fire Marshal inspection is scheduled for Galvez Primary on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017. Following a successful inspection, it is possible that Galvez Primary will move from Lakeside Primary and RPCC to its home campus next Thursday or Friday. We anticipate to announce a move-in date via School Messenger and on our website by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

LAKE ELEMENTARY: There was a slight delay in connecting power this week at Lake Elementary that moved the Fire Marshal inspection to Wednesday, Mar. 1, 2017. Following a successful Fire Marshal inspection, we will announce a move-in date. Please be advised we do not anticipate Lake Elementary to move from Duplessis Primary, RPCC and Prairieville Middle next week.

ST. AMANT PRIMARY: St. Amant Primary's move of PreK through second grades from G.W. Carver Primary to the old RPCC campus is contingent upon the move of both Galvez Primary and Lake Elementary. We will announce a move-in date for St. Amant Primary once move-in dates are secured for the other two campuses.

GALVEZ MIDDLE: We are still on track for scheduling a Fire Marshal inspection at Galvez Middle the week of Mar. 6, 2017. Upon sucessful completion of a Fire Marshal inspection, we will announce a move-in date for Galvez Middle from Central Middle.

Thank you all for your continued patience during this process. Many of our employees and contract workers will be working through the holiday weekend to get all schools back to single sites as quickly as possible. We are very, very close!

Sincerely,

David Alexander
